✏︎ As we decided to head for Sapa in the Northwestern region of Vietnam, we had to figure out how to get there. However it wasn’t hard to pick the most intriguing solution, as we found out there are night trains from Hanoi to Lao Cai which is the train station closest to Sapa.

We booked a VIP cabin, which means we have a 2 berth cabin all to ourselves. You can also book a bed in a 4 berth cabin, but those were simply too small for comfort if you ask us.

The whole experience was great. Of course it’s not easy to get a proper nights sleep, but it’s a great way to save both money and time, as the train removes the need to accommodation elsewhere. If you are going to Sapa from Hanoi this is very much recommendable.

  1. First of all… it’s official. I like vlogs on moving vehicles! I liked the boat vlog, now I liked the train very much! It’s like really travelling with you guys. Can’t explain.
Liked Amalie’s end-of-the-bed argument so much!! I have the same thing in metro and subway stations. I like them, but when you start thinking about it. They’re so dirty. The pole’s for example when you grap it!
Liked also Joen’s ‘talk’ with the taxi driver! Hilarious! It’s so recognizable!
And last but no least. Your parents Joen!! You see immediatly that they’re such lovely people!! They are adorable. Just like you, Joen. You’re a very sweet, good and down-to-earth guy. You’re genuine. And that’s important being a vlogger.
    Take good care you guys!
(By the way, this isn’t a comment anymore. It’s a MAIL!)

  2. They are planning to build an airport up there on Sapa, soon these trains will not be relevant anymore.

  3. The mom put shoes on the bed. Even the locals know not to do that. Now I see why the dirt and smell coming from. Other than that the video has good content.

  4. Nice vlog dude.. but I won’t travel there.. they seems unfriendly and kinda scam out you guys while they can.
